What Becomes of Your Riviera
‘[Gaza could be] the Riviera of the Middle East …’
D. Trump
Imagine a resort where
water in the swimming pools
shivers at dawn
sand swirls and scatters
in condominium corridors
traffic lights flash out of sequence
and street lamps buzz and blink
gas rings spark awake
in restaurants at night
electrical systems short
at the air traffic control tower
and the last tourists scramble
for the last helicopter departing
from the roof of your last
smouldering hotel.
